Mercedes GP on Monday revealed the bright silver livery it will use on its cars for the 2010 world championship.
At the German carmaker's Stuttgart museum shortly after 11am, drivers Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg presented the colour scheme - featuring a black nose and a turquoise sheen in deference to title sponsor Petronas - to hundreds of media representatives.
The car, to be unveiled and tested next Monday in Spain, will be called the MGP W01, the team said in a press statement.
"On the nose and other parts of the car, traces of black carbon fibre are visible," said Mercedes, referring to the fact that the traditional use of silver dates back to when white paint was sanded off the 1934 car to reduce weight.
"We are perfectly on schedule," said Norbert Haug, responding as to why the 2009 Brawn car was used for the livery launch.
"If you are testing on 1 February and you have already finished the car beforehand, then you have not used your time correctly," said the German.
Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche, meanwhile, was not on message after Mercedes officials insisted for weeks that Schumacher and Rosberg do not represent 'Team Germany'.
He said the duo "together complete the German formula one national team".
