Citroen’s DS3 Has Been Launched In South Africa

Citroen’s DS3 has been revealed in South Africa. The new DS3 comes to South Africa only a few weeks after the Paris reveal.
The DS3 for SA will boast 11 different colour combinations, new trim options and a lot of add-ons. It will be tough to match models together as the possibility behind a unique DS3 is massive. Everyone has their own taste, and this means everyone will be able to match the DS3 to their own style.
Loads of colour is available for the inside, while chrome pieces will enhance the overall look and feel.
Citroen has added a range packages for the DS3 and the first one is the Style. Citroen’s Style pack contains the popular pieces inside, while the second Techno package will enhance the vehicle with automatic lights, parking sensors, digital air-con and Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
The third kit will be the Design. The Design will add alloy wheels and a sporty look that includes sport seats and aluminium pedals.
If you’re thinking that you need all of these packages, then you’ll buy the Sport.
The standard DS3 includes LED lights, a two-piece grille and cooling-ducts.
Engines include naturally aspirated and turbocharged units. There will be an 88kW 1.6-litre VTi motor followed by a 1.6-litre THP Sport with 115kW and 240Nm of torque.
Pricing starts at R199.000 for the 1.6-litre N/A model. Citroen’s turbocharged 1.6-litre DS3 will cost R255,000.

The Renault Laguna Coupe Has Arrived In South Africa

Renault has launched their Laguna Coupe in South Africa. The local market will now be able to benefit from its exclusivity, style and dynamism.

“The Renault Laguna CoupĂ© expresses timeless beauty, linked to absolute driving enjoyment. The result is an athletic two-door flagship coupĂ© with strong allure and a unique position in the local market,” explains Renault SA managing director, Xavier Gobille.

The coupe model will focus on premium quality and comfort. This essentially means that it will be a flagship model for the French brand.

“Accordingly, it’s a fitting flagship model for the SA market, and one that will attract an entirely new calibre of discerning clientele to our showroom floors, while serving as a compelling image-builder for Renault in general,” Gobille says.

The Renault Laguna Coupe will have four-seats, as well as new styling for the exterior. The interior is said to be sporty and include a load of chrome and aluminium finishes. There will be all-round spaciousness, despite the lack of rear doors.

Engine wise Renault has added a 3.5-litre V6 motor with 175kW and 330Nm of torque. There will be a 0-100km/h time of 7.4 seconds followed by a top speed of 244km/h. The fuel consumption will be a mediocre 10-litres per 100km.

Interior equipment includes a new BOSE sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports and iPod connectivity.

Pricing starts at R499 900.




Mercedes-Benz South Africa Is Off To A Good Start In 2010

Mercedes-Benz has received positive feedback from consumers as their sales increase during the February month. A total of 4,839 passenger cars have been delivered since January, 2010 and this is 15% more than the previous year.

“We are delighted that we started the year with a strong increase in sales and attribute this success to our wide model range, making us clear market leaders in the premium segment with the S-Class, M-Class, E-Class and C-Class models. Our recently introduced C220 CDI and E250 CDI engines will give us an additional boost in March, building up to an excellent first quarter result,” says Eckart Mayer, Divisional Manager, Mercedes-Benz Cars.

“The recently launched E63 AMG has been very well received and is now complemented by the C63 AMG limited edition. Further excitement has been added to the M-Class range with the AMG 10th Anniversary Edition and the M-Class Sports Package, which gives our discerning customers, who want to show their passion for the sporty side of life wherever they go, a special touch of panache,” adds Mayer.

“Currently we have embarked on an exciting 2010 marketing campaign. This initiative draws customers in to our dealerships and invites them to take part in a test drive, thereby exposing them to our product offering and also help build momentum towards the 2010 spectacular,” adds Mayer.
