If Jaguar decides to add an XJR model to its range, we assume that it will most likely be fitted with an even more powerful version of the 2011 XJ Supersport's 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that makes 510 ponies. Photos Autogespot
We still don't know if Jaguar's future plans include the introduction of a high-performance 'R' model for its new XJ limousine, but the folks over at Autogespot took the liberty to create a speculative rendering that shows us what the XJR might look like. Evidently inspired from the 510HP Jaguar XFR, the artist gave the XJ a more aggressive look by redesigning the hood and front bumper, adding chunky alloy wheels and side air vents, reshaping the rear bumper and well, that's about it.

Jaguar has announced the limited edition 2010 Neiman Marcus XJL Supercharged sold out in four hours and four minutes.
All 50 cars featured an exclusive Celestial Black metallic paintjob, custom navy and ivory leather upholstery, Zebrano matte wood trim, and 20" alloy wheels.
Power comes from a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 470 hp and 424 lb-ft of torque. Backed up by a six-speed automatic transmission, the car accelerates from 0-60 mph in 4.9 seconds. If you keep your foot planted, the XJL Supercharged will top out at an electronically limited 155 mph.
While you may have missed out on a $105,000 special edition, Jaguar will happily sell you a standard XJL Supercharged for $90,500.

We're still short on details, but the picture reveals that the modified Colt-R gets a cosmetic makeover with a redesigned front end that includes a new grille and a more aggressively styled bumper while the 5-door supermini also features a carbon-fiber racing strip that runs nose-to-tail. As with other Tommy Kaira projects including the Prius, the Colt-R has been stripped out of any Mitsubishi and Ralliart brand logos. While we don't have any other photos of the final product (the rest of the images in the gallery depict an unfinished prototype model), we suspect that Tommy Kaira's Colt-R will also get a newly styled rear bumper with matching side skirts, roof spoiler and different alloy wheels, and maybe even some mechanical upgrades. The standard JDM Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart is powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 154HP that sends power to the front wheels through a Getrag five-speed manual gearbox. The Japanese tuner said that further details and photos will be released at a later date.
It looks like Japanese tuning firm Tommy Kaira is on a roll lately. Besides releasing initial details on its proposed tuning packages for the latest generation Toyota Prius hybrid, Tommy Kaira has also published the first official photo / rendering of the company's take on the Japanese domestic market Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart that has been christened the Colt-R.

The tuner covers the XKR Convertible's front grille and air-intakes with handmade, chrome-plated stainless steel grilles while at the rear there's a new diffuser that houses the tail pipes of the new sport exhaust system. Of course, no Arden model would be complete without flashy wheels, and there's room for a new set of 21-inch Sportline alloys. Via Carscoop
Never satisfied with the factory Jaguars, German tuner Arden has introduced its take on the revised 2010 Jaguar XKR Convertible. Arden starts by hiking the performance of the new 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that gains 30 horsepower and 50 Nm of torque for a total output of 540 horsepower and 675 Nm (498 lb-ft). A sport suspension with new shocks and the removal of the electronic speed limiter complete the changes under the skin.
The XK coupe and convertible models feature a naturally aspirated version of the AJ-V8 Gen III that delivers 385HP and 515Nm of torque allowing the coupe to hit 60mph in 5.2 seconds. Jaguar claims that both the XK and XKR have improved fuel economy and CO2 emissions which meet the forthcoming EU5 emissions legislation. As expected, the new V8 unit will also find a place in the coming months in several Land Rover models. The exterior changes for the 2010 XK and XKR models include a new front bumper with aluminum effects, new LED rear lights and a new lower rear body valance. Inside the cabin, both models gain the pop-up gear selector from the XF.
As well as revealing the new XFR at the Detroit Auto Show, Jaguar also pulled the covers off the 2010 Model Year XK and XKR coupe and convertibles that receive all-new V8 engines. With a displacement of 5.0-liters, the all-new AJ-V8 Gen III direct-injection engines deliver more power and performance with greater efficiency than their 4.2-liter V8 predecessor. In the XKR, the supercharged 5.0L V8 produces 510HP and 625Nm of torque propelling it to 60mph from standstill in 4.6 seconds.

Live Video Stream of 2010 Jaguar XJ Presentation in London
The presentation will start at 8:15pm London time (New York EST 3:15pm, Los Angeles 12:15pm, Rome - Italy 9:15pm, Melbourne - Australia 5:15am, Tokyo - Japan 4:15am). As a refresher, the new XJ will be Jaguar's first car to feature the next-generation of its aerospace-inspired aluminium body architecture with powertrain options including the firm's latest V6 diesel and V8 gasoline engines. Jag's BMW 7-Series fighting model, which is expected to feature a modern design partially inspired from the smaller XF, will be in dealerships from the end of this year. Via:Carscoop
The all-new 2010 Jaguar XJ will be officially launched this Thursday, 9th July at a special event at the Saatchi Gallery in London. The glitzy presentation will be performed by former late-night TV talk-show host and car aficionado, Jay Leno who will be joined by Mike O'Driscoll, Managing Director at Jaguar Cars. You can watch the unveiling of the British firm's all-new luxury saloon live here on Carscoop through a streaming video that we will upload on our site that day.
Well, all that has just changed, for better or for worse. Never the sales leader, the newest XJ is one of this year's debuts that needs to be super-dee-super (much like Saab's 9-5); looking at the photos, well, it is and it isn't. The bottom line is this: the exterior comes off like a photoshopped XF. The front end takes the XF's face and makes it smoother and more elegant, which happens to be a big bonus. Also, it doesn't appear to slope back as much, creating a blunter, more aggressive demeanor when partnered with the mean - and better-executed than the XF - headlights. For anything else positive, other than the decent albeit "looks like SOMEONE used to work for Audi" roofline, you'll have to go inside; right now we're sticking to the exterior, where things go from good to bad in a real hurry. The award for biggest "Just say NO" idea goes to the c-pillar. What were they thinking? Whether it's painted metal or just black composite, I guess the idea was to give the illusion of the rear windscreen wrap-around. If that was indeed the case, the chrome trim around the side windows quickly put a stop to that idea. Also, why would they want the rear windshield to appear wider than the panoramic roof? For the sake of appearing out of balance, obviously. The rest of the rear three-quarter view seems rushed and stolen, with Audi A6 written all over it. The taillights look like a cross between those of the Lancia Thesis and the Maserati Quattroporte, while the trunk is just plain, bland, and boring. The leaper is ok, but a car as significant as this should say J-A-G-U-A-R across the back in tastefully-sized chrome letters, telling you what it is instead of giving Pictionary-esque hints. That said, the good stuff is on the inside. The interior is gorgeous, fresh, and everything the newest big Jag needs to be. The layered dashboard is different, while still keeping with Jaguar's traditional door-to-door wood paneling theme. Does the dash's wraparound wood remind me of a Buick Lacrosse? Sure, but it works (if Jaguar thinks Buick's design is good enough to adapt to its range-topper, what does that say about the new Lacrosse interior?). The raised center vents are reminiscent of a Pagani, and the attention to detail regarding the trim is top-notch, even if some of the baubles are bound to cause future problems (is that ambient lighting in the vents?). Lastly, when 30 percent of the rear doors are covered with slabs of wood, you know the car is ritzy. While the exterior is meh, the interior is what convinces me that it's a Jag. We can all tell that the latest XJ is a 90-degree turn off the path its predecessors laid out for it, but is it enough? It will certainly grab attention for being the radical departure that it is, even if it inherited more than its share of flaws trying to be like the rest of the luxury gang; but will it be able to compete with the A-Team of big-lux sedans? For performance, quality, and the rest, we'll just have to wait for the reviews. What we know is this: at $72,000 and change, the entry-level model with the 385HP 5.0-liter V8 seems to be priced just right; but a $15,000 hike for the 470HP supercharged V8 model? That seems like a bit of a gouge. And if you want the 510-horse "special order only" Supersport (it seems as if interior traits aren't the only item worth taking from GM) it'll take $112,000+ from you. For a supercharged V8 that's pushing it. It seems as if Jaguar still hasn't quite figured out its pricing and its targets just yet. The more things change, the more they stay the same. The XF, Jaguar's mid-sizer, was a... leap.... forward in design, luxury, and gimmicks when it debuted (no more J-gate shifter!). It not only made the S-Type look like a slob, but made people relegate the S to the "end of the bad days" section of history with Jag's unfortunate X-Type. The XJ, on the other hand, has been the picture of restrained aristocracy - as opposed to performance, value, or extravagance - in the luxury segment for quite some time, its lines slowly evolving but never really breaking the mold.
In essence, the A-Type AJ18 package tries to give the road-legal Jaguar XK a more racing look with a full body kit made out of special carbon composite material. Along with the new front and rear fenders which widen the car up to 50mm or about 2.0-in., the A-type conversion adds a 3-air gill vent in the front fenders, reworked front bumper with stainless steel mesh upper and lower grille plus a lip spoiler, race-spec mirrors, side skirts and a revised rear bumper. The XK's looks are rounded off by a large rear wing and 20-inch Sportline alloy wheels in chunkier tires. The mechanical upgrades of the A-Type package include a high-performance braking system with 370mm discs and 6-piston fixed caliper, and a sport suspension developed in cooperation with Bilstein that lowers the vehicle by 30mm. Now here's something we don't see very often. Back at the 1999 Frankfurt motor show, German tuner Arden presented the special edition A-Type AJ18 based on the Jaguar XK (1997-2005 model) that was produced in a limited run of 13 units. Ten years later and Arden has decided to reissue the A-Type AJ18 and build another five vehicles bringing the total to 18 pieces.
The countdown for the presentation of the all-new Jaguar XJ sedan has begun as in 10 days from now, the British automaker will properly reveal its BMW 7-Series contender in London on July 9. In the meantime, Jaguar continues to bombard us with trivial details on the car. In this latest video, Jaguar's Chief Engineer, Mike Cross talks about the new XJ's driving dynamics and how the car has been designed to be "agile" yet "refined and comfortable". Watch the film after the jump.

With this engine, the XF Supercharged sprints from zero to 60mph (96km/h) in just 4.9 seconds, or 0.6 seconds faster than the naturally aspirated XF 5.0L and a mere 0.2sec slower than the 510HP XFR. Along with the new V8, the XF Supercharged also gains Jaguar's Adaptive Dynamics suspension control system and Active Differential Control that electronically controls the rear differential, plus upgraded ventilated disc brakes. On the outside, the latest model in the XF range is distinguished by the special badges, silver-gray painted brake calipers, chromed exhaust tailpipes and specific 20-inch alloy wheels. Interior features include contrasting stitching on the instrument panel and door top rolls, unique wood trim, a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system, HD radio, and heated steering wheel. Sales of the XF Supercharged will begin the States this October. Aside from the XF 5.0L, the XF Supercharged and the XFR, Jaguar's XF lineup in the US also includes an entry-level model priced from $52,000 that is powered by a 4.2-liter V8 with 300HP. Via Carscoop
In an attempt to close the power and price gap between the $57k XF with the 385HP naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 and the M5-challenging $80k XFR that is fitted with a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 that makes 510HP, Jaguar has introduced a new model to its U.S. market lineup called XF Supercharged. Priced from $68,000, it is powered by a detuned version of the XFR's 5.0L supercharged V8 that delivers 470HP and a peak torque of 424 lb-ft.
These are the first official photographs of Jaguar's long-awaited XFR sports sedan that is due to make its worldwide debut at this week's Detroit motor show. Aimed squarely at the BMW M5, Audi RS6 and the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, this wild cat comes with a supercharged V8 engine delivering 510HP and a more aggressive design in and out with details that hint but do not shout at the car's performance.
At the heart of the new XFR we find an all new 5.0-litre AJ-V8 Gen III engine fitted with a sixth-generation, Roots-type twin vortex system (TVS) supercharger. It produces an output of 510HP between 6,000-6,500 rpm and 625Nm (461 lb.ft) of torque from 2,500-5,500 rpm. Compared to its supercharged 4.2-litre V8 predecessor, power has increased by 23 percent and torque has increased by 12 percent.
Power is transmitted to the rear-wheels through an enhanced version of Jaguar's electronically controlled, six-speed transmission. Additional clutch plates and an uprated torque converter have been added to facilitate the extra power.
The result is that the new XFR has a 0-60mph sprint time of just 4.7 seconds (0-100km/h in 4.9 seconds) while acceleration from 50-70mph is completed in just 1.9 seconds. The XFR runs the quarter mile in 13.1 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). As for the XFR's fuel economy, Jaguar gives an official combined fuel economy figure of 22.5mpg UK (18.8mpg US or 12.5l/100km).
Aside from the supercharged V8, Jaguar's engineers have enhanced the XFR with Active Differential Control and Adaptive Dynamics. The electronically controlled differential and suspension system work together to optimize traction under acceleration and cornering. The XFR also adds a faster steering ratio and uses larger ventilated disc brakes.
Moving on to the car's design, while recognizable as a performance version of the XF, Jaguar's designers -rightfully in our opinion- avoided embellishing the model with an exaggerated bodykit. The result is a car that balances between sporty and sleek.
Compared to the standard XF, the new XFR gains a revised snout with a larger lower grille with black-finished mesh, plus chrome outboard air intakes. The upper mesh grille retains XF's bright finish, while the bonnet carries distinctive louvres, similar to those found on the XKR sports car. The XFR also features new sill extensions, while the rear bumper adds a unique body-coloured lower valance panel incorporating the 'R' signature of four large, bright-finished tail pipes. The new bootlid spoiler, the redesigned exterior mirrors with LED side repeaters and the 20-inch Nevis alloy wheels complete the changes.
Inside, Jaguar adorned the XFR's dashboard with a dark mesh aluminum finish trim, New 18x14-way adjustable sports seats embossed with the 'R' logo while the the speedometer and tachometer gain red dial pointers and carry the 'Supercharged' motif. The XFR will come with a full soft grain leather interior as standard.
Jaguar will offer the new XFR with a select palette of just eight exterior colors: Ultimate Black, Indigo, Liquid Silver, Lunar Grey, Porcelain, Botanical Green, Kyanite Blue and Salsa.
