Volvo S60 convertible image leaked

A supposedly leaked picture of a Volvo S60 Coupe-Convertible based on the new sedan model, said to have been shot during some sort of internal presentation, has been making the internet rounds this morning.
However, in this day and age of photoshop wizardry, you can't trust everything you see on the website. And judging from the picture of the standard S60 saloon that you can check out after the jump, we have serious doubts about its authenticity.
Bypassing the clearly photoshoped 'shades' under the front bumper, the most telling elements about the legitimacy of the S60 Coupe-Convertible picture are the highlights, shadows and mirror images of the background on the car's profile that are identical and in the same exact position as those found on the 4-door sedan model.
And if you know a thing or 2 about photography, if not impossible, this is extremely difficult to occur in real life with 2 different vehicles.
It is possible though that the Swedes created / used the photoshoped image for internal purposes e.g. to tease the model during a dealer or an associates presentation.[WCF]

2011 Hyundai Verna revealed in Beijing Motor Show

It will be available exclusively with a four-speed automatic.If you choose the 4-speed automatic and the Fuel Economy Package, the Verna consumes 2 l/100km (9 mpg US).Looking like a miniature Sonata, the Verna features sweptback headlights, a bold grille, and rearview mirrors with integrated LED turn signals.Inside, the cabin boasts higher quality materials and an improved design.Chinese production kicks off in July, while global production occurs shortly thereafter.Hyundai has unveiled the 2011 Verna (aka Accent) at the Beijing Motor Show.It uses an increased amount of ultra-high tensile strength steel, so we can expect improved handling and better NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) levels.

The base 4-liter produces 79 kW (106 hp / 107 PS) and 135 Nm (100 lb-ft) of torque.When equipped with a 5-speed manual, the Verna consumes 7 liters/100km (2 mpg US).

Power comes from two new Gamma petrol engines with multiport fuel injection.The car rides on an all-new platform with a 2570mm wheelbase - the biggest in its class.According to Euisun Chung, Vice Chairman of Hyundai Motor, "Today is a really special day for us, not only because we're launching a new car, but because it's one of the very few times we've done a world-premiere outside of Korea: And we chose to do it right here in China because it's our way of recognizing how important our Chinese customers are to us.If that doesn't float your boat, Hyundai also offers a 6-liter with 90 kW (121 hp / 122 PS) and 155 Nm (114 lb-ft) of torque.

Bentley Continental GT Design Series China special edition revealed

Last year the brand sold 421 cars there, and will have 13 dealerships across the country by the end of 20 One of two models in the China-only series the Continental GT Design Series China is joined by the Flying Spur Speed China.The Conti GT China features orange and magenta accent colours for the first time, as well as Orange Flame and Magenta Metallic exterior colours.

China has become the third most important market for Bentley.The Amboyna veneer, normally optional at Bentley, is also available on these cars.The interior comes in a tri-tone colour scheme which mixes the main leather colour with accent colours for the inserts.Wood veneers called Piano Black and a dark-stained Burr Walnut are used.Items such as floor mats, seat piping and the steering wheel's hand-stitching benefit from these colours.

Lamborghini Reveals Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce China Limited Edition in Beijing

Lamborghini has unveiled the Murcielago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce China Limited Edition at the Beijing Auto Show.Lamborghini explains that the car "is designed and manufactured exclusively for China's most discriminating super sports car enthusiasts." I guess that's Lamborghini-speak for nouveau riche with "colorful" tastes.

The orange stripe is meant to represent an erupting volcano over what I'm guessing is the gray of a volcano. On Balboni's Lambo (click here), the stripe was cool. Here? Not so much.

Inside, owners get their name and serial number on a plaque, while the rest of the car... well, that's pure, rocket-ship LP 670-4 SV.

The engine is Lamborghini's soon-to-be-retired (now) 6.5 liter V12, which means it puts out 670 horsepower to the SV's 100-kilo-lighter body and clips 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds. It tops out at 342 km/h (213 mph), unless buyers go with the "Aeropack Wing", which cuts top speed down to a mere 337 km/h (209 mph).

What this car lacks in a fancy "special edition" name and all that unnecessary "special edition" equipment, it more than makes up for with...nothing. It's a "special edition" for the sake of being a special edition and to suck up to the growing Chinese market.

Except that it's a Lamborghini, so it's still kinda cool.

Chevrolet Volt MPV5 electric concept unveiled at Auto China 2010

Following a patent leak, Chevrolet has unveiled the Volt MPV5 concept at Auto China 2010.Chevy’s new MPV will boast a lithium-ion T-battery and a 1.4-litre petrol engine used as a generator. The battery provides for 51.5km of driving, while the petrol unit extends this to 482km.
GM has said that the MPV5 boasts a set of 19-inch wheels, 5-seats and an aerodynamic body. There is a closed grille, lower optimized air dam and underbody covers. New tail lamps enhance the rear end of the MPV5.
Loading space amounts to 1,764-litres when the seats are down, or 863-litres when the rear seats are in the upright position.

Mercedes CLS Shooting Brake Concept

Latest in a line of design tangents starting with the CLS, Mercedes will be debuting its Shooting Brake Concept. This is meant to be a closer, more production-ready preview to the next CLS than the FASCINATION. It also rolls on 20's.

First off, the engine is a 3.5 liter V6 previewing the next generation of V-engines from Mercedes that develops 306 horsepower (225 kW) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm). And that's the least interesting part about the car.
While the Mercedes-Benz Shooting Break concept will be translated into a production version over the next year, so too will the engine and full-LED headlights.

This is further accentuated by the large glass roof that extends over the heads of the rear passengers.At the same time it points the way towards the future design idiom of Mercedes-Benz.The efficient engine, fitted with stop/start, is already being prepped for future use, while the LED light scheme has been made to work with the Mercedes Adaptive Highbeam Assist system.The use of the cream tone as the dominant color that carries into the headliner works to make the concept feel more spacious and comfortable.Behind the rear seats are stylish storage units meant to fit items like a laptop or tool kit, with a drawback that they may be hard to reach.A flat wooden floor in back will make sliding luggage or golf clubs in and out of the car a bit easier.

Gorden Wagener in a press release.The concept car is a preview of the upcoming 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS, a competitor to the Audi A7, BMW 5-Series GT, and Porsche Panamera.The lamps flank either side of the SLS AMG-styled radiator grille, and are set above large air intakes.Features on the concept include headlights made from 71 LEDs that out perform traditional lighting by giving the driver five different settings depending on condition.The Shooting Break concept car is based on the great tradition of a stylish, cultivated sportiness which has always characterised the great Mercedes Coupés, and it takes this unique legacy an exciting step further," said Mercedes top designer Prof.The car rides on one-off five-spoke 20-inch silver wheels, which fit in well with the satin-finish allanite grey mango paint job.With a long hood, bulbous rear wheel arches, deeply cut styling across the car's side panels, and a swooping roofline, the concept is much better proportioned than the often-criticized 5er GT.Inside, the car makes good use of contrasting cream and brown leather, though a third leather shade needlessly creates a tri-color scheme.
