Renault has launched their Laguna Coupe in South Africa. The local market will now be able to benefit from its exclusivity, style and dynamism.
“The Renault Laguna CoupĂ© expresses timeless beauty, linked to absolute driving enjoyment. The result is an athletic two-door flagship coupĂ© with strong allure and a unique position in the local market,” explains Renault SA managing director, Xavier Gobille.
The coupe model will focus on premium quality and comfort. This essentially means that it will be a flagship model for the French brand.
“Accordingly, it’s a fitting flagship model for the SA market, and one that will attract an entirely new calibre of discerning clientele to our showroom floors, while serving as a compelling image-builder for Renault in general,” Gobille says.
The Renault Laguna Coupe will have four-seats, as well as new styling for the exterior. The interior is said to be sporty and include a load of chrome and aluminium finishes. There will be all-round spaciousness, despite the lack of rear doors.
Engine wise Renault has added a 3.5-litre V6 motor with 175kW and 330Nm of torque. There will be a 0-100km/h time of 7.4 seconds followed by a top speed of 244km/h. The fuel consumption will be a mediocre 10-litres per 100km.
Interior equipment includes a new BOSE sound system, Bluetooth connectivity, USB ports and iPod connectivity.
Pricing starts at R499 900.
