Sketches purportedly showing the updated Maybach have surfaced in several publications. The company is supposedly readying their redesign for introduction in China next month.
According to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, a Maybach employee at the Geneva Motor Show confirmed that the limo's facelift will be in looks alone. The new design is likely to include an updated front bumper, new grille, remodeled hood, and LED daytime lights. Engine power output changes are not expected.
The Amsterdam-based newspaper says the facelift, rumored since 2007, has been confirmed by Dr. Dieter Zetsche, head of the Maybach-parent Daimler. Zetsche told the paper that the engines will fit with Euro V emissions rules, and no other changes beyond the visual adjustments will be made.
Maybach staff will be looking to rejuvinate the brand if they release the facelifted car. Maybach sales dropped significantly in recent times.
The facelifted Maybach could take a bow at the Beijing Auto Show in April.
